Punters Lose Cricket Betting on India in T20 World Cup.
India played their last match of the T20 World Cup against Namibia. The performance was nothing short of breath taking with the boys in blue reaching their target with over four overs to spare. Their bowling was on target and restricted the African side to just 132 with a loss of eight wickets. The Indian batsmen seemed eager to board the next flight to India as they completed the target with the loss of just one wicket.
Their previous matches against Afghanistan and Scotland had delivered similar results. India showed their experience and bulldozed their way through the opposition. Critics are now asking the important question as to why the same display of aggressive batting and bowling was not executed against New Zealand and arch rivals Pakistan.
The first game that India played was against a relatively young Pakistan side. Going through yet another management change, the Pakistan team were written off by pundits, fans and fellow cricketers. Most punters are not even willing to place bets to back India as they knew the outcome would most certainly mean a win for team India. What happened in reality was quite different. The Indian batsmen were restricted to a modest total and the Pakistani openers dispatched the Indian bowling like child’s play. In the end it was Pakistan that had in fact shrugged off India and went on to win the match by 10 wickets!
With such a demoralising results for the Indian team, a regime change was going to be evident. Ravi Shastri has stepped down and the reigns of the cricket team will now be taken by Rahul Dravid. Dravid has been instrumental in developing youngsters and sending them across to the national team. His experience and batting prowess will no doubt be a plus for India. Another change will come in the form of Virat Kohli stepping down as Indian captain and being replaced by the Rohit Sharma.
We can only hope that these changes can bring about the revival of team India in T20s so that the cricket betting scene can once again be invigorated for the sake of punters in India.
