The Pakistan Super League (PSL 2021) has recently restarted in the U.A.E and on Wednesday the 16th, a man was arrested from the Naroda area on suspicion of cricket betting. The accused was found to be accepting cricket bets from various parties via the use of two different gambling applications.

The crime unit raided a house based in Sattva Sharda Society near Haridarshan Crossroads in Naroda on Wednesday after receiving intel on the illegal activities being conducted.

The accused identified as Hardik Patel, 28, is a resident of house number 403 in the aforementioned society and was using two smartphones to accept bets. The match in question was between Quetta Gladiators and Multan Sultans. One mobile phone was being used to display the live score while the other was being used to display betting odds via the use of cricket betting apps.

Patel also identified his accomplices in this racket which go by the name of J D Bhavnagari and Shital Kathi. The apps in question were supplied by a third person identified as Aarif Ghanchi. Patel shifted the blame on these three and mentioned that they were the masterminds behind the cricket betting scandal and he was merely receiving his share from the betting.

The three other accused – Ghanchi, Bhavnagar, and Kathi are on the run.
