Tuesday the 4th of May was the day when the defending champions Mumbai Indians were to face the Sunrisers Hyderabad. However, the growing number of COVID-19 cases and the recent positive result of Sunrisers Hyderabad’s wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha tested positive for COVID-19 along with Delhi Capitals’ veteran spinner Amit Mishra have forced the BCCI to postpone the tournament.

Postponing the tournament while is absolutely necessary will also deal financial blows to the BCCI as they are set to incur losses of over  Rs2000. Now the next step will be the safe return of the international players from India. Sam Billings and Chris Woakes are all set to leave for England tonight and the remaining cricket boards are also making arrangements to get their citizens back to their home country.

We urge our fellow Indians to exercise caution and stay indoors as much as they can. This is global pandemic and the quicker we take precautions against it, the quicker we can go back to our normal live. Stay safe!
