Will IPL 2020 be the year of the Royal Challengers Bangalore? Their fans certainly hope so! To give them an edge over the other IPL teams, RCB have acquired the batting services of Aaron Finch. Finch was acquired for Rs 4.4 crores in the auction last year. At such a heft price tag, the pressure is on Finch to deliver and potentially take the team to the end.
His inclusion is a welcome addition to a side that is generally considered to be weak on both the batting and bowling departments. The good news is that Finch has a stellar record in t20s, having played 61 games for Australia, 75 matches in the IPL and 62 in the Big Bash League. He is also a former number 1 batsman in ICC T20 rankings.
The Aussie is excited to be part of RCB and made the following comments while talking to ANI
“It will be my first time playing under Virat’s leadership but something I’m very excited about. Having played against him for a number of years now in international cricket and IPL I know how driven and competitive he is, that something I’m looking forward to seeing up close. I hope that my experience will come in handy, being able to help out anyone I can during the IPL. If that means I can help take some pressure off Virat then I will do everything I have to.”
Finch while excited to be part of RCB did share his disappointment of not being able to play infront of packed stadiums. The IPL is known around the world for its jam packed stadiums and electric atmosphere.
