IPL 2020 provided plenty of exciting moments for cricket punters looking to back their favourite teams. Unfortunately for two students, Urra Suresh (21) and his cousin U. Komaraiah (22) things have taken a turn for the worst. Both have reportedly committed suicide after losing money on cricket betting.

Both had invested ₹1.10 lakh on IPL matches but were still in the red with bookies and could only repay ₹30,000. The bookies had allegedly put enormous pressure on the students from Peddakurapadu and Budigajangala Colony which ultimately drove them to end their lives.

Both had ingested pesticide near the Bellamkonda railway tracks and made a video explaining their decision to do so. Suresh succumbed to his death instantly while Komaraiah died while undergoing treatment on Saturday. The police have been on the hunt for the bookies involved in the case and have arrested Tirupati Rao and Baji.

The police are searching for the other bookies and punters in the case.
